The region's most popular recreation area all year round, 12 km from Molde on the RV 64 road. Good walking trails, running tracks, orienteering, fishing, canoe paddling and children's play area.Rowing boats, canoes and fishing tackle can be hired from Skarstua Tourist Centre. Horseback riding in the school holidays. Skarstua café serves traditional Norwegian food and its "world famous" soft ice cream.
Tour suggestion:
Start and parking at Skarstua, RV64. Follow the road towards the Malmesetra pasture. Turn off to the right at the end of lake Skarvatnet, and follow the path all the way around back to Skarstua. The trip is pram friendly, except a small stretch with a steep hill.
